News content:Boeing and the China Aviation Supplies Holding Company (CASC) recently signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a framework for cooperation on aftermarket parts solutions for China.

“CASC has provided excellent support as our logistics provider for the China Distribution Center in Beijing for many years,” said Stan Deal, Boeing senior vice president of Commercial Aviation Services. “This expands our existing cooperation, and we look forward to working together to developing realistic, cost-effective solutions that provide mutual benefit to both of our companies and our airline customers for years to come.”

According to the MOU, Boeing and CASC will engage on a regular basis to deepen cooperation and potentially set up joint programs in the future. Projects will focus on facilitating sustainable growth of the Chinese aviation industry by improving the efficiency of aftermarket parts management, logistics and distribution.

Key areas of mutual interest include consignment of consumable parts and slow-moving parts, services to support airplane on the ground repairs, pooling and exchange of rotable component parts, landing gear exchange programs, and sharing best practices.

“Strategic partnerships with Boeing will help provide high-quality, integrated services and solutions to Chinese operators and contribute to the construction of a strong aviation industry,” said Li Hai, president of CASC.

“CASC brings decades of experience working with spare parts and providing integrated support services in the aftermarket,” said Anbessie Yitbarek, regional sales director for Boeing Commercial Aviation Services. “This potential partnership is well-aligned with Boeing, which offers the largest portfolio of services and support in the commercial aviation market with a strong emphasis on the parts business and integrated solutions.”

Boeing forecasts that China will need 6,020 new airplanes worth more than $870 billion over the next 20 years. The market will account for more than 16 percent of total demand in new deliveries and market value. This rapid growth also creates significant opportunities for Boeing to support customers with aftermarket products and services. “Boeing is constantly exploring new strategic partnership to help our customers in China continue to grow,” added Yitbarek.

Boeing Commercial Aviation Services provides a wide range of aftermarket products and services that enable airlines and leasing companies to improve operational efficiency. These include around-the-clock customer support, pilot and crew training, parts, maintenance, engineering and modification services, digital navigation and other information services.
